Birds Wing Cottage

Bird’s Wing Cottage
| 1 Clinton Road – Northport, Maine

| Description: Bird’s Wing Cottage is perched right on top of a bluff in “Bayside Village,” Northport, Maine. Bayside is original Americana. Some feel it is the best village representation of its kind. In the 1800’s Bayside was established as a Methodist church camp. The original homes were tents on wooden platforms. During the 1900’s they were rebuilt into wonderful Victorian gingerbread cottages. Walking through Bayside is pure return to nostalgia. Flags are flying, petunias and geraniums overflow their painted boxes, cats sleep in the sun and neighbors are most willing to sit and talk on their porches. The cottages are gardens in themselves as they, too, are painted a wonderful variety of colors.

This oceanfront location makes you feel you are riding a bird’s wing, hence the name Bird’s Wing Cottage. Every room has an ocean view that is breathtaking. Sitting in the living room you become part of the sea and the weather. This is truly an enchanting spot.

The home is moderately sized but there is ample room for a family to have private places within the house. A wonderful village common with swings and a marina just a short walk away compensates for the minimal yards in Bayside.

This house features three bedrooms: a master suite with king bed and its own bathroom (shower) and private balcony which seems to soar over the ocean; two bedrooms on the lower level, one queen and two twins, each with its own view and a separate entrance. The fully equipped kitchen is brand new with beadboard cabinets and granite countertops. A second bath (Jacuzzi tub/shower) is on the main level. The house is surrounded on two sides by a lovely deck. Amenities include a DVD surround-sound system, stereo, VCR, satellite TV, WiFi and washer/dryer. Linens are included and there’s a charcoal grill to enjoy a barbeque. NO SMOKING. Children must be over 10 and medium sized dogs are best. $150 non-refundable pet deposit. Sleeps 6; Master-king, Guest-queen, Guest-twins. $2400 per week.
