The cottage includes a boat launch, though you will need to rent your own canoe or kayak. Not far offshore is a little island, wonderful for sailing past and spying on wildlife. A birder's dream, the lake abounds with waterfowls, song birds and deer. It is certainly a special spot for nature lovers. Nightingale cottage is 40 minutes from Camden, Rockland and Rockport and 20 minutes from Augusta, 30 minutes from Belfast. The area is certainly central to mainy locations in midcoast Maine. One hour and half from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

The Blue House | 103 Bayview Street Camden, Maine | Description: This house was built in 1885 and while it retains its original design (except for a master bedroom addition on the first floor and a wrap around porch in the front), it was completely renovated from the basement to the roof between 2011 and 2013. You will enjoy a brand new kitchen and newly furnished accommodations (including wifi and cable tv), all while breathing fresh ocean air and enjoying the gentle breeze from the water across the street. The house is very comfortable with a true farmhouse feel that invites you to relax as soon as you arrive. The house is perfect for a couple who wish to enjoy the main floor where there is also a master bedroom with connecting full bathroom. Families will enjoy using the master bedroom upstairs and the two single bedrooms. There are lots of board games to play: Scrabble, Monopoly, Clue, Risk, Skipbo and more. Please inquire about bringing your dog (preferably small and one only). The house has a garden in the front and so your dog will need to be walked on the street. Laite Beach park is a two minute walk to the right of the house where there are public doggy bags and a trash can available. Dogs are very welcome there and can swim in the water during designated times. Make sure your dog is up to date on tick and flee medicine when visiting Maine. There is so much to do in Camden and you are welcome to leave your car, bikes, kayaks or other gear in the over-sized garage during your stay. From your front door, you can walk along Bayview Street and both directions will provide you spectacular views from the mountains to the sea. In the evenings, take a stroll to your favorite restaurant, as many are close by, or shop for fresh local ingredients to make the perfect meal for two or for a family dinner around the farm table inside. Take a picnic to Laite Beach (a two minute walk) and watch the sunset. In the mornings enjoy coffee on the covered, wrap-around porch while you decide your day's activities. Bear Pond Cottage | 85 Little Harbor Drive Northport, Maine 04849 | Description: This new waterfront home sits 100' from the edge of Penobscott Bay’s Little Harbor. This somewhat shallow but private end of the Little Harbor has easy access to beach kayaks, canoes or row boats. Bear Pond Cottage is a lovely home that is fully equipped with linens and gourmet kitchen utensils. Nestled in the woods and very private but not remote, the cottage is 5 minutes to Belfast and 10 minutes to Camden. Somewhat rustic in feeling, it also has executive level furnishings (granite-like counters, leather sofas, table seating for 8-10). A central great room with 2 story stone gas fireplace faces the large covered deck and looks out to the harbor. Bedrooms and baths are off the great room. Most of the bedrooms have a water view. There is seating at the oversized kitchen island in addition to a large dining room with a coffee bar. Piano, TV, VCR, DVD, dishwasher, washers/dryers, fireplace, and gas grill are among the amenities of Bear Pond Cottage. There is no home phone but most cell phones do work. Two bedrooms have king size beds. There are 3 twin beds and 2 sofa beds on the main floor. The main floor has 3 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. The main floor sleeps 6. NO SMOKING. $2800 per week. In addition to the main floor, Bear Pond Cottage has a lower level with similar executive furnishings. There are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and 3 bathrooms. There is no kitchen. This can be rented with the main floor for an additional $1200 per week. To rent the whole house with both floors is $4000. The whole house will sleep 10-12.
