Bird's Wing Cottage is perched right on top of a bluff in "Bayside Village," Northport, Maine. Bayside is original Americana. Some feel it is the best village representation of its kind. In the 1800's Bayside was established as a Methodist church camp. The original homes were tents on wooden platforms. During the 1900's they were rebuilt into wonderful Victorian gingerbread cottages. Walking through Bayside is pure return to nostalgia. Flags are flying, petunias and geraniums overflow their painted boxes, cats sleep in the sun and neighbors are most willing to sit and talk on their porches. The cottages are gardens in themselves as they, too, are painted a wonderful variety of colors.

This oceanfront location makes you feel you are riding a bird's wing, hence the name Bird's Wing Cottage. Every room has an ocean view that is breathtaking. Sitting in the living room you become part of the sea and the weather. This is truly an enchanting spot.

Touted as "the most beautiful walk in Maine" venture out on a morning walk along Beauchamp Point Road and see the sailing vessels, lobster boats, library, the famed Rockport Opera House, the contemporary art gallery, the lovely children's chapel and garden, and the belted galloways. This new waterfront home sits 100' from the edge of Penobscott Bay’s Little Harbor. This somewhat shallow but private end of the Little Harbor has easy access to beach kayaks, canoes or row boats.

Bear Pond Cottage is a lovely home that is fully equipped with linens and gourmet kitchen utensils. Nestled in the woods and very private but not remote, the cottage is 5 minutes to Belfast and 10 minutes to Camden. Somewhat rustic in feeling, it also has executive level furnishings (granite-like counters, leather sofas, table seating for 8-10). A central great room with 2 story stone gas fireplace faces the large covered deck and looks out to the harbor. Bedrooms and baths are off the great room. Most of the bedrooms have a water view. There is seating at the oversized kitchen island in addition to a large dining room with a coffee bar.

Piano, TV, VCR, DVD, dishwasher, washers/dryers, fireplace, and gas grill are among the amenities of Bear Pond Cottage. There is no home phone but most cell phones do work. Two bedrooms have king size beds. There are 3 twin beds and 2 sofa beds on the main floor. The main floor has 3 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. The main floor sleeps 6. NO SMOKING. $2800 per week.

In addition to the main floor, Bear Pond Cottage has a lower level with similar executive furnishings. There are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and 3 bathrooms. There is no kitchen. This can be rented with the main floor for an additional $1200 per week. To rent the whole house with both floors is $4000. The whole house will sleep 10-12.

The Boathouse at Steamboat Wharf is located in Historic Searsport Maine. This cozy cottage is situated between Camden and Acadia National Park making it a perfect home base to explore Maine's beautiful midcoast. This unique 3 story cottage has a second floor deck to catch the views and breezes of Penobscot Bay. 1-minute walk to the pier to see local lobstermen bringing in their catch, launch your own kyak from the pier, and watch the sailboats dance across the bay. 4-minute walk to town, Post Office, grocery, restaurants and book stores, antique stores and visit the famous Penobscot Marine Museum.

The cottage has a full kitchen with a gas stove and microwave. The full bathroom, with tub and shower, contains a washer and dryer. There are 3 bedrooms, the first floor bedroom has a queen size bed and a gas stove for chilly evenings. The other two bedrooms are located on the top floor, one double bed with ocean view and the other tiny room has a single bed. There is a shady yard for reading your favorite book while looking out to the Atlantic.
